They have on-site obstetricians, neonatologists, maternal-fetal medicine providers, and certified midwives for your and your baby’s urgent care needs. Women feel confident birthing at the facility as they control their birthing plans with the guidance of experienced providers. Low intervention options are available for expecting mothers. 

Support is provided for expecting mothers who are high-risk and need additional medical attention. Planned cesarean sections are available through the hospital. Receive breastfeeding support with 24/7 lactation support at the hospital. Your baby will stay in your room at all times. You may request your baby be taken to the nursery on-site if you need rest after birth. Weekly virtual information sessions are offered for families to learn more about the facility. Patients can easily pre-register online or via mail to expedite their arrival during labor.

Virginia Hospital Center Labor and Delivery is a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The NICU provides care for babies of any age and weight. They partner with Children’s National Hospital for the best care for all babies who need extra medical attention after birth.  Their large staff of experienced providers monitor all babies in the NICU 24/7.

Virginia Hospital Center Online provides expecting families education workshops, community groups, and childbirth navigation. Expecting mothers can learn more about pain management options available to them during labor, such as epidurals, massage therapy, and more.
