WHEN SHOULD I CALL TO SCHEDULE MY MATERNITY SESSION?
Capturing the beauty of maternity all while making momma feel gorgeous! The best time to photograph your maternity photography session is between 32-36 weeks or 25-30 weeks if expecting multiples. Therefore it is best to schedule your maternity photography session during your second trimester to ensure that you can guarantee your photography session is booked.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
The simplest wardrobe choice for your maternity photography session is….non at all! Moms-to-be are often stunned at the elegant images that result from creative posing and camera angles that show “just enough.” If you’re not inclined to bare all, there are many options that result in gorgeous bare belly shots everyone wants. Try a fitted dress or a tank top and low-waisted yoga pants (black looks especially sleek). The “fitted” part for any wardrobe choice is key. Be sure to keep tightly-fitted elastic waistbands and socks far far away for a few hours before your photography shoot so that we avoid indentations in your skin. Wristwatches are also best left off for the photography session.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE PRE-SESSION CONSULTATION?
This is where we create the ideal session for you! This begins with an online questionnaire where we collect all kinds of information about you, your family, and your expectations for the session. Then we will either schedule an in-person appointment or a phone appointment where we will discuss clothing options and talk about the products we offer as well as spaces in your home where we can plan for something that fits you. When your photography session day arrives, we’ll have a plan so everything goes smoothly–which means LESS stress for you.
WHEN DO I GET TO SEE THE IMAGES?
You will get to see your images in a slideshow set to music during your Ordering Appointment 2-3 weeks after your photography session. I will help you with all of your final decisions on images and products that we have custom designed just for you. We can even show you what your images will look like right on YOUR wall! This is one of the best parts – so please feel free to have as many people present as you would like. But don’t worry! If the family lives out of town, a gallery of your purchased images can be posted online for them to view following the ordering appointment.
CAN MY KIDS ATTEND THE ORDERING APPOINTMENT?
Of course they can! Children are welcome, BUT if you would like a chance to relax and concentrate on the beautiful images and products that we will creating for you, then you might want to arrange childcare. Or we can schedule your appointment when your children are in school.
WHEN DO I GET TO BRING EVERYTHING HOME?
Quality takes time, so please allow 4-6 weeks from your order date for completion of your photography order. Custom designed albums and orders with framing may take longer. But it’s worth the wait!
WHAT KIND OF INVESTMENT DO MOST FAMILIES MAKE?
Most of our clients invest anywhere from $1200 to $5000+ on their custom photography sessions. However, everyone’s needs are different – some spend a little more and some spend a little less.
WHAT IF I ONLY WANT A FEW SMALL PRINTS?
What we are is a full service, high quality photography studio. We spend a significant amount of time on your session from photography to post-processing, and then provide you with the highest quality images to choose from. If you want gift prints only, we recommend that you book one of our Mini Sessions offered twice a year. Our Mini Sessions are abbreviated and include prints/digital images at a special rate.
