WHAT HAPPENS AT THE PRE-SESSION CONSULTATION?
This is where we create the ideal session for you! This begins with an online questionnaire where we collect all kinds of information about you, your family and your expectations for the session. Then we will either schedule an in person appointment or a phone appointment where we will discuss clothing options and talk about the products we offer as well as spaces in your home where we can plan for something that fits you. When your session day arrives, we’ll have a plan so everything goes smoothly–which means LESS stress for you.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
This definitely our most frequently asked question! Upon booking your session we will send you information on all the details for your upcoming session, including what to wear and how to prepare. Angela will also go over all of these details with you during your pre-session consultation where we will plan out the perfect session for your family.
WHEN DO I GET TO SEE THE IMAGES?
You will get to see your images in a slideshow set to music during your Ordering Appointment 1-2 weeks after your session. We will help you with all of your final decisions on images and products that we have custom designed just for you. We can even show you what your images will look like right on YOUR wall! This is one of the best parts – so please feel free to have as many people present as you would like. But don’t worry! If family lives out of town, a gallery of your purchased images can be posted online for them to view following the ordering appointment.
CAN MY KIDS ATTEND THE ORDERING APPOINTMENT?
Of course they can! Children are welcome, BUT if you would like a chance to relax and concentrate on the beautiful images and products that we will creating for you, then you might want to arrange childcare. Or we can schedule your appointment when your children are in school.
WHEN DO I GET TO BRING EVERYTHING HOME?
Quality takes time, so please allow 4 weeks from your order date for completion of your order. Custom designed albums and orders with framing may take longer. But it’s worth the wait!
WHAT KIND OF INVESTMENT DO MOST FAMILIES MAKE?
Most of our clients invest anywhere from $800 to $1200 on their custom portraiture. However, everyone’s needs are different – some spend a little more and some spend a little less.
WHAT IF I ONLY WANT A FEW SMALL PRINTS?
What we are is a full service, high quality studio. We spend a significant amount of time on your session from photography to post processing, and then provide you with the highest quality images to choose from. If you want gift prints only, we recommend that you book one of our Mini Sessions offered twice a year which are an abbreviated session and include prints/digital images at a discounted rate.
DO YOU HAVE A REFERRAL PROGRAM?
Yes! We do. Referrals are the heart of our business and a true compliment us. If you loved the services we provide, please share the love with your friends. By doing so you will be rewarded with print credit each time your friends book and pay for a session.

Newborns are truly Angela’s favorite subjects to photograph and her passion for capturing the newness of life shows in the way that she comforts, soothes, and carefully poses them for the images she creates through her lens. After their sessions, many of her clients leave our studio convinced that she is “a baby whisperer”. Newborns stay new for such a short time, Angela loves to capture all of the special details of your fresh little one before they begin to change. As Howard County’s premier newborn photographer, she is highly sought after for her unique perspective and uncanny ability to capture the beauty of newborn babies.
WHEN SHOULD I CALL TO SCHEDULE MY NEWBORN SESSION?
Before your baby is born! It is so important to plan ahead. Capturing your newborn within the first two weeks of life, while they are still sleepy and curled up, can make all the difference in your newborn portraits. Angela’s schedule fills up about four weeks in advance so please call to schedule your newborn appointment before your baby is born. Since we never really know when your little one will arrive we will put you on our calendar to hold a spot for you. When your baby is born we will move your appointment accordingly.
If your baby came early or if your baby is already born, don’t panic! We always do our best to squeeze newborns into our schedule and older babies take beautiful portraits too.
IS ONE WEEK TOO EARLY FOR MY SESSION?
Absolutely not! Newborn babies photograph best between 6-10 days old. At this point they are still very sleepy and like to curl up as if they were still in the womb. We take up to two hours for a newborn session and leave plenty of time for feedings, diaper changes and breaks for mommy and baby. Come as soon as you are ready, we can’t wait to meet your new little one.
WHAT SHOULD BABY WEAR?
Newborns photograph best without any clothes at all or just a simple diaper cover. Angela loves to photograph newborns swaddled in blankets with lots of texture and snuggled up tight in buckets and baskets, so if you have a special blanket or two please let us know. We also recommend that you have diaper covers for baby (if you have some, we have a supply if you don’t) and plenty of diapers and wipes. We have an extensive supply of newborn hats, bows and headbands that coordinate beautifully with our blankets and props that Angela will use to stylize your images. You are welcome to have any hats or props that you would like to have the baby photographed in. Angela encourages her clients to bring special, personal items which make the session and images especially meaningful.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY NEWBORN SESSION?
We recommend that you have your baby well rested for the session and plan to feed baby as soon as Angela arrive. Sleepy babies photograph perfectly, so Angela will ask you to undress and swaddle baby before the feeding so as to not disturb them by undressing them after the feeding. We take several breaks for feeding baby during the session to ensure that baby is happy and has a full tummy. We ask that you not be too concerned with scheduled feedings during the session and that you feed baby on demand or when they get a bit fussy to ensure their comfort and a smooth session.
CAN I BE PHOTOGRAPHED WITH MY BABY?
Absolutely! We wouldn’t have it any other way. Angela loves to capture the emotion of those special first days with your new little one and believes that there is no greater image than a new mommy or daddy cuddling with and admiring their newborn child. Skin on skin images are a unique way to capture the purity of these relationships, but we also ask parents to have a long sleeved black shirt so that they may serve as a backdrop for baby for some of the images.
